FADING INNOCENSE!!!

In the endless sea of innocence
Deep within an infant’s eyes
Drifts the unsinkable ship of
Truth, with its sails on high

Silent, serene and sincere – his
Peaceful eyes can be described;
But this is the defines his today,
Tomorrow belongs to the other side

He’ll envelope himself by grotesque
Sheets of unbreakable complexity
And bind his existence with falsehood
By chains of long corrupted fantasy.

But his soul will cling to on to it,
All through, and discreetly nurture
It’s complexity – allowing the rhythm
Of his life defy the rhythm of nature

But neither autumn’s red-lipped fruitage
Nor the spell of spring lasts all day.
No matter how long it breathes, no
Matter whatever it be, it fades away

And so will those eyes, one dusk
Break free from its cold hard shell
But alas! Just to seep into another
And in it for a new week dwell!

President Kalam Speaks!!!!

The President of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's Speech in Hyderabad .

Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?

We are the first in milk production. We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan, he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news. In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so NEGATIVE?

Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T. Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation. Do you have 10 minutes?

Allow me to come back with a vengeance. Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours. YOU say that our government is inefficient. YOU say that our laws are too old. YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke, The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - YOURS. Give him a face - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity... In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai . YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds ( Rs.650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.'YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.' YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand . Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ???

We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India ?

Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay , Mr. Tinaikar, had a point to make. 'Rich people's dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,' he said. 'And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan . Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's right.

We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.

We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity. This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system? What does a system consist of ?

Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away. Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England .

When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too.... I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians..... 'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY' Lets do what India needs from us.

Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending some Jokes or non-sense junk mails.

Thank you, Dr. Abdul Kalaam (PRESIDENT OF INDIA )

About ORKUT !!!

Orkut is an Internet social network service run by Google and named after its creator, Google employee Orkut Büyükkökten. It claims to be designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships. Similar to Friendster and MySpace, Orkut goes a step further by permitting the creation of easy-to-setup simple Communities of users. Since October 2006, Orkut permits users to create accounts without an invitation. In April 2007, Orkut introduced polls in communities.

Orkut is the eighth most visited site throughout the world; it is also the second most visited site in India.

Orkut has a list of features unique to itself like "Scrapbook”, “Communities" etc., apart from the normal features like messaging and photo album..
Scrapping, though the word in not accepted officially in English, is popular among the Orkut community as a kind of offline chatting. You can scrap a person even if he is offline. The person to whom the scrap is sent will be able to see it when he visits his scrapbook. Contrary to personal messaging or email, scrap book entries are public, meaning that any one with an orkut account can read others scraps. Earlier if a person had to reply to the scrap he had to visit the person's profile then go to his scrapbook then scrap him. But in late 2006 Orkut changed it by adding a feature by which one can reply to a scrap from their scrapbook itself.

Another unique feature of orkut is "Communities". Anyone with an orkut account can create a community on anything. One can post topics, inform users about an event, ask them questions or just play games. There are more than a million communities on orkut on absolutely everything from pizza to pasta from Film star to superstar, from your pet to your teacher. The 1st 5 communities on orkut were started with in 24 hrs of launch of orkut. In April 2007, orkut added a feature called "Polls" where in community users can be polled. Participation can be open for all or can be restricted to only the members of community.
In addition to this there is a personal messaging feature. Users rarely use this feature. It is mainly used by community owners to ask others to join their community. Though the messages are meant to be personal they aren't. If you know the exact link of the message then you can visit read their messages.

There is also a feature to upload photos and videos into your orkut profile. One can have up to 12 photos on his album. Each photo can also be tagged with a citation. The video upload feature was added in early 2007, probably after Google's acquisition of YouTube. Users can even link their videos from Youtube or google video and make it play as an inline video within orkut.
Users have options to rate their friends in the order of "Best Friends", "Good Friends", and “Friends”, Acquaintances “and” Haven’t met. Further, each member can become fans of any of the friends in their list and can also evaluate whether their friend is "Trustworthy", "Cool", and “Sexy" on a scale of 1 to 3 (marked by icons) and is aggregated in terms of a percentage. Unlike Facebook where a member can view profile details of people only on their network, Orkut allows anyone to visit anyone's profile, unless a potential visitor is on your "Ignore List". Importantly, each member can also customize their profile preferences and can restrict information that appear on their profile from their friends and/or others (not on the friends list). The highlight feature is where any member can add any other member on Orkut to his/her "Crush List" and both of them will be informed only when both parties have added each other to their "Crush List".

If person A deletes person B from his friends' list, person A will be deleted from person B's friends' list also.

Orkut has many other competitors such as MySpace and Facebook, widespread internet communities. Orkut as some major service like Blogging service. Google is planning to add several new features to orkut in 2007.

Vijayaragavan (Anju-Manni-Ragavan):-))

This blog is about my dear friend with whom I studied my 11th and 12th...As the title says, I'm talking about VIJAYARAGAVAN. At present he is doing BE(cse) in Paul's Engineering College, Puducherry...

Let me say about him!!!

Well making someone to laugh and make them to forget their pain is the greatest gift which God can give to a man. God gave him that gift...

My school AMALOPAVAM is known for it's strictness but I enjoyed there because of this LITTLE BODY-BUILDER...Well, when I was studying 11th std, I used to seat behind him...I used to get one mark higher than him, in all my computer exams and tests...During that time, I wasn't so close to him, as I'm now but I enjoyed his pranks very much...I can still remember it, whenever he was caught by a teacher, he used to act so innocent that even that teacher will start laughing at his acting...Ya, I know what your thinking!!! He is a hell out of a guy!!! I like him even for small things, for example his speech, sense of humor, style and it goes on...
When I was studying 11th and 12th, he made my school life “THE BEST "...In 12th also I used to seat behind him...During class revisions, especially during our Math revision and Physics Revision, we used to play all kinds of pranks. He created group called as DOGWBC on one of our Math Revision...We rocked this school to its foundation...WE WERE FAMOUS IN OUR SCHOOL...

We used to have Entrance Coaching Class on Saturdays for physics, chemistry and Math. We used to bring some snacks like POLO, MINT-O, MARIE, CHOCOLATES, COOLDRINKS, and some CREAM BISCUITS...While the professor takes class, we used to eat our snacks and pass it to other benches...He is very good in saying punch dialogs...Sometimes he puts so much mokkai that your ear-drum will start bleeding... He has so many nick names but some names are very famous like Anju-Mani-Ragavan

"" HE IS ONE OF A KIND AND ONE OF A GEM""

I MUST THANK THE GOD FOR GIVING ME SUCH A GOOD FRIEND ...

In my 6th Std

This Blog is about my 6th std...

I enjoyed my school Life to the core. I studied in two schools and I enjoyed my life in both the schools. I had lots and lots of friends in my school days.I did 10th std in St.Patrick's school and my 12th in Amlorpavam.

Let me share my school life with you guys/gals.

I can still remember it, as it was yesterday. I really enjoyed studying in St.Patrick's School. I used to play all kinds of pranks in my class but no one would notice it.
I will say it one by one, it's so funny, I am sure that you will enjoy it..........

This incident happened when I was studying 6th std, Mrs.Vasugi was my chemistry teacher. She is very strict while she takes class. I'm her favorite student you know why? She used to ask me chemistry equations daily, as usually I won't answer the question and she made me stand in the class. On one such occasion, as usual she asked me a question but this time she asked me to stand outside the class. As she was my teacher I obeyed her and stood near the door with 4 notes. I don't know that my school Principal Mr.Regis saw me and tat time my teacher went to lab to bring some apparatus and He came near me and asked " Why are you standing outside the class with your notebooks?". I said I didn't bring my pencil so the teacher asked me to stand out. He asked " For that your teacher asked you to stand out" and I replied "Yes sir".
Then my teacher came, when she tried to explain my mistake, Principal intervened and said that he knows and asked her not to send students out for such a small thing. She was confused and asked me to go to my desk. Everyone in my class started laughing and I went and sat in my desk as a good boy.

About me and me only

At first, let me introduce myself to you. My name is Vikneswaran, I'm doing my B tech IT in Jeppiaar engineering college in Chennai.
I did my 1st to 10th n St.Patrick's matric.,hr.,sec.,School and I did my 11th and 12th in Amlorpavam.

I really miss my school days. I used to have great fun there. I had many school friends then and I still do now.
